CHERI MAEHL AWARDED FELLOW OF THE ASSOCIATION

Fellow of the Association is awarded to individuals for their professional achievement. Cheri Maehl, speech-language pathologist, was awarded Fellow of the Association for her many contributions to ISHA and to the speech and hearing professionals in Iowa. During CheriÕs many years of membership, she has been an officer on the board, serving as Vice-President of Public Relations and Liaison and editor of The Lingua. As a speech-language pathologist, she has been an advocate for children and a knowledgeable mentor and teacher for colleagues, particularly in the area of phonological processing. Cheri has worked tirelessly as a promoter of the profession, providing ideas, support and leadership in the area of public relations. ISHA appreciates CheriÕs career-long service and her contributions to our profession. Congratulations, Cheri, on receiving Fellow of the Association! Past Honors Winners

he Honors of the Association may be presented to any individual upon recommendation of this committee and approval by three-fourths of the Board. This award recognizes distinguished contribution to the field of speech, language and hearing and is the highest Honor the Association can give.
Members are encouraged to nominate individuals who are known throughout Iowa for significant and extensive contributions. Contributions to the field may include: innovative clinical practice, insightful and rigorous research, creative administration, effective legislative activity, outstanding teaching, dedication to the professions of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, or other distinguished lifetime professional activities. Contributions to ISHA may include services as officer, committee chair, vice president, ex-officio board member, committee member, or resource person.
The nominee shall be a long-term regular member in good standing. Nomination requires sponsorship by an ISHA member and co-sponsorship by an individual who has received Honors of the Association.
